In a time when arts education continues to suffer or disappear all together from public schools throughout our region, SingOut! dedicates itself to providing performance opportunities and promoting the performing arts as a whole. In turn, singers gain valuable life skills and the confidence they need to succeed as creative productive adults in a demanding world.
August of 2012, Jeff Golub-Evans called the first meeting to organize and promote the newly formed entity, SingOut! CT. Jeff was a tireless fan of live performance and he founded SingOut! CT as a way to utilize the talents of singer and director, Alecia Evans. Alecia had been directing children's choirs in the area for over ten years and Jeff was adamant that she expand her skills to a broader base and develop a non-profit organization to bring music to the Litchfield Hills. Jeff was a celebrated cosmetic dentist, artist and amazing presence in the local community. In August of 2013, Jeff passed away from leukemia, but SingOut! CT continues his legacy through its' instruction and performance for young singers. Beginning in Spring of 2015, SingOut! CT developed the Founder's Award to honor its' founder, Jeff Golub-Evans by presenting a plaque to a singer who exemplifies the commitment and passion for SingOut! CT's mission.
